The necessity to minimize plastic waste in landfills and protect our environment is widely recognized and acknowledged. It’s clear that the status quo must shift.
The Responsible Plastic Management Challenge offers a practical and transparent support system, along with a promotional framework for any organization aiming to implement and showcase responsible plastic management practices.
Organizations can signify their formal participation in the Challenge by using the ‘Engaged’ logo and being listed in the RPM directory.
The Responsible Plastic Management Challenge will provide support and add value to an organisation’s plastic management efforts.
Organisations in the Challenge can follow a 6 Step approach to Responsible Plastic Management status, including any necessary dialogue with designers, suppliers, recyclers and waste contractors
The 6 Steps of the Challenge
The Certification Stage
Engaged organisations could realistically be in the challenge phase for 24 months. There is an optional Certification Stage. For the Certification award, organisations must have a full audit trail to demonstrate that plastic waste material is being treated correctly and nothing ends up in landfill.
An RPM approved expert assessor will review the documentation and audit trail to verify that the organisation has met Responsible Plastic Management Status.
